Wear resistant steels have proved successful in various applications in which high impact, wear and abrasion are major cost factors. Thanks to their high Brinell hardness (BHN), wear can be minimized and component life increased. Wear resistant steels have superior forming, welding and wear characteristics.
XAR STEELS
XAR wear resistant special structural steels may be used for wear-exposed structures, e.g. excavating, mining and earth-moving machinery, excavator buckets, truck dump bodies, dredgers, conveying, crushing and pulverizing equipment, scrap presses and paving moulds and in switch manufacturing.
RAEX 400 STEELS
A hot rolled steel plate resistant to abrasive wear caused by rolling contact and high surface pressure can be used to significantly lower the costs generated by wear and break down of structural components. Despite its strength and hardness, weldability and formability of the steel grade are good.
TYPICAL APPLICATIONS: Bodies, buckets and cutting edges of earth-moving machines, wearing parts of mining machines, wearing parts of concrete mixing plants and wood processing machines, platform structures, feeders and funnels.
FORA 400 BC STEELS
Water quenched martensitic steel, with a typical hardness of 400HB. Thanks to its toughness, its elevated hardness, its high yield strength, FORA can be used wherever resistance to wear by sliding or by moderate impacts is required.
TYPICAL APPLICATIONS: Quarries, construction and earthmoving: skimmers, crushers, screens, bunkers, bulldozers etc. Cement plants: buckets, crushers and bunkers. Mines: excavator, winding and discharging machines, conveyors, etc. Iron and steel industries: Bunkers, various casing, guide and shifting plates, etc.
